The Sakonnet Fish Company is
located right on Park Avenue in the Island Park section of Portsmouth,
Rhode Island. Our location offers water views from virtually every seat
in the house. To the south we overlook the Sakonnet River and the East
Passage of Narragansett Bay; to the north, our upstairs dining room
overlooks the Blue Bell Cove and out toward Mount Hope Bay.
From
Providence and Points West
- Take Exit 20 off
Interstate 95 to Interstate 195.
- Follow I-195 East
into Fall River and take Exit 8A (Tiverton/Newport, R.I.) Route 24
South.
- Go over the Sakonnet
River Bridge (Route 24) and take your first exit into Portsmouth.
Exit 3 (Anthony Road, Common Fence Point, Island Park)
- Bear Right off the
exit and follow the road back under the highway. Take a left at the
stop sign. Sakonnet Fish Company is on your left about a mile and a
half after you turn at the stop sign.
From
Newport and Points South
East Main Road (Route
138)
- Take Route 138 North
into Portsmouth.
- At the intersection
with Turnpike Avenue, (Clements Marketplace will be on your right,
the Bank of Newport will be directly in front of you.) bear right to
continue on Route 138 (East Main Road).
- Two traffic lights
after the intersection will be a Shell station and signs directing
you to Island Park. Bear right at this sign.
- Once you bear right,
you are on Park Avenue. Follow Park for a mile and a half, the
Sakonnet Fish Company will be on your right.
West Main Road (Route
114)
- Follow Route 114
North until it merges with Route 24 North. Take Route 24 North to
Exit 2.
- At the end of the
ramp, take a right and pass straight through the traffic lights. At
the end of the road will be a T-style intersection, you will be
facing the water.
- Take a left at the
intersection onto Park Avenue. Sakonnet Fish Company will be a mile
down on your right hand side.
From
Boston and Points North
- Take Route 24
towards New Bedford and Fall River from Interstate 93/Southeast
Expressway.
- At the end of Route
24 in Fall River, take Interstate 195 West (Right side of split.)
- Follow I-195 West to
the very next exit, Exit 8A (Tiverton/Newport, R.I.) Route 24 South.
- Go over the Sakonnet
River Bridge (Route 24) and take your first exit into Portsmouth.

- Go over the Sakonnet
River Bridge (Route 24) and take your first exit into Portsmouth.
